Multistore PrestaShop

Discover how you can manage multiple PrestaShop stores efficiently, saving time and development resources. One instance, many brands and markets, full control from a single admin panel.

PrestaShop Multistore is for you if:

  • Many brands

You run several shops under different brands or domains

Want to run separate marketing strategies and merchandising for each brand, with a shared administrative back end? Multistore allows an independent look, content and pricing policy per brand, with permission control and reporting in one place.

  • Many markets

You plan to sell in several markets

Want to adapt the range, language and currency to each country and meet local requirements (VAT, payment methods, carriers)? Multistore lets you configure prices, taxes, payments and delivery per market, while keeping a consistent catalogue and SEO tailored to local queries.

  • One panel

You need a single admin panel

Want to lower maintenance costs, shorten implementation time and avoid duplicating work? You manage users, roles, modules and processes in one panel, and roll out changes predictably across the whole ecosystem of stores.

Multistore on PrestaShop: 8 tips

Implementing Multistore on PrestaShop can significantly improve the management of multiple stores, but it’s worth knowing the best practices to make full use of its potential. We’ve gathered the most important tips that will help with efficient management, configuration and optimisation of PrestaShop stores.

01

International sales

Multistore in PrestaShop makes international sales possible, so you can:

  • manage sales in different markets under separate domains,
  • adapt the product offer, prices, language and currency to each market,
  • set individual product prices, independent of exchange rates,
  • set the right VAT rates depending on the customer’s country,
  • manage promotions and marketing communication in each market,
  • use different payment and delivery methods adapted to local markets.
02

Selling under several brands

Selling under different brands is a strategy that allows more personalised communication with customers. Multistore on PrestaShop lets you adapt the look, features and domain of each store. Products can be shared between stores, and the multistore feature provides central stock management, which makes it easier to control product availability in real time.

03

Product management in one place

Multistore in PrestaShop lets you enter different information about the same product depending on the store (e.g. photos, descriptions). At Waynet we created a dedicated module that further improves this process. It lets you define which product fields are shared and which can be edited separately for each store, giving full control over changes and the offer.

04

Order handling in one place

Multistore lets you manage orders from different stores in one place, which streamlines fulfilment, packing and shipping. You can also decide whether customers will see their orders from several stores in one account or whether these will be separate order databases.

05

Leaner server infrastructure

Multistore runs on a single PrestaShop instance, which significantly lowers server requirements compared with many separate installations. It also reduces the number of test and development environments and backups needed, which brings savings in maintenance.

06

Lower development costs

Running several stores in Multistore mode lets you roll out changes and modules to all stores at once, which reduces development costs. All modifications can be managed from one repository, which shortens testing time and minimises the risk of errors.

07

Automated product data exchange

  • Updates to content, attributes and photos of shared products replicate to the selected stores, with the option of local overrides (titles, categories, content).
  • Stock levels are synchronised when the product and warehouse are shared; with independent warehouses you use rules and ERP/WMS integrations.
  • Prices, taxes and payments are defined per store/market; you achieve a consistent offer through a shared catalogue and logical range selection rules, instead of „copy everywhere”.
08

Technical considerations

  • Modules and integrations are configured per store: the same module can have different settings (payments, delivery, SEO, marketing) for each domain.
  • Domains and URLs: each store has its own domain/subdomain, TLS certificate and SEO settings (URLs, meta, sitemaps), which supports geo/brand SEO.
  • Scope of data sharing: sharing customers and orders is hard to reverse and has consequences for GDPR, reporting and loyalty, so make this decision consciously.
  • Stock and prices across many channels: different warehouses, price lists and currencies require overarching rules (ERP/PIM/WMS) and a single „source of truth”.

A framework Multistore implementation process

Although a full PrestaShop store implementation requires specialist knowledge and alignment with your processes, below we present the general course of launching and configuring a Multistore environment. Our team runs this process end to end, optimising the configuration of modules, domains and integrations so that further stores can be launched predictably and without operational disruption.
01

Activating multistore and structure

You plan store groups and centralisation where it brings a cost and operational advantage.

02

A new store (brand/market)

You assign a domain and define independent content and UX in line with the brand or market.

03

Configuration per store

Range, currencies, taxes, payments and delivery in line with local law and pricing policy.

04

Separation and sharing

You decide what stays shared (parts of the catalogue, processes) and what needs to be isolated (prices, content, integrations), to maintain compliance, SEO and data consistency.

PrestaShop Multistore : frequently asked questions

What are the benefits of PrestaShop Multistore? +

Implementing PrestaShop Multistore allows central management of many online stores from one admin panel. This saves time and costs and makes it easy to adapt the offer to different markets and target groups, which makes scaling an e-commerce business easier.

What does launching a new shop in Multistore involve? +

It covers preparing the configuration for the market (range, content, prices, taxes, payments and shipping), connecting integrations and testing. The typical time depends on the scope of changes and integrations.

How much does a PrestaShop Multistore implementation for several shops cost? +

The cost of implementing PrestaShop Multistore depends on the number of stores and the scope of work. A simple configuration of a few stores will cost less, while the price will increase if the implementation includes a custom graphic design, data migration and integrations. Get in touch for an individual quote based on the exact specifics of the implementation.

When should you choose PrestaShop Multistore and when separate instances? +

Multistore works well when you need shared management and consistent processes with separate content, prices and taxes per store/market. We consider separate instances when full data separation, different infrastructure or different compliance and SLA requirements are critical.

How does multistore differ from a B2B platform? +

Multistore covers many stores/brands/markets on one instance, whereas a PrestaShop B2B platform is a sales model for businesses (prices per customer, credit limits, ERP integration). The two approaches can be combined: multistore B2B + B2C in one ecosystem.

Won't many stores on one instance slow the store down? +

Not with a good architecture. The key is efficient hosting and PrestaShop optimisation (cache, queuing, indexes), which keep things fast even with many stores and high traffic.

Can customers be shared between Multistore shops? +

Yes, but it has significant consequences for privacy, consents and reporting; moreover, such a decision is hard to reverse. We usually recommend it only when there is a real business need and GDPR requirements are met.

Which PrestaShop agency should you choose for a Multistore implementation? +

Client clients

I had the pleasure of working with Waynet on a project to replatform our shop. It was particularly demanding because of the many bespoke solutions that were key for us, and because the shop ranked highly in search engines. Despite a few tougher moments (which is natural in any larger project 🙂 ), we ultimately achieved excellent results. The professionalism, understanding and support we received from Łukasz and the whole team of project managers and developers were invaluable and had a huge impact on the final success.

Nutropharma
Helena Ciszewska E-commerce Manager

We have been working with Waynet since 2023. We started our cooperation by building the biozdrowy.pl website. Today the company handles the IT for this website. While creating biozdrowy.pl we had the opportunity to work with a talented graphic designer, Ola, who matched our tastes and needs for the look of the site wonderfully, and these were not the easiest to meet. We rate the coordination of the cooperation positively thanks to the project manager, Karol, whom we wholeheartedly recommend. Karol fulfils his duties excellently and is a real support for us.

Waynet created our website from scratch, meeting all our expectations. The team, and Radek in particular, showed great flexibility and openness to suggestions, which allowed the project to be adapted to our specific requirements. Thanks to their professional approach, the whole process ran smoothly, and after implementing the site engine and adapting the design for UI/UX, we continue to work together on ongoing tasks. Communication is smooth and pleasant through an intuitive ticketing panel, which lets me follow progress as it happens. Regular monthly reports are a big plus that gives us full insight into the work being done. I recommend Waynet as a reliable and trustworthy partner.
